Rochelle Basirico

Rochelle has been dedicated to her practice at the Yoga Room since 2005. With the exception of a college yoga class, she had little other experience with the practice until she joined the Yoga Room. It was during that first real, honest experience with yoga that her passion for her practice was born. An instant love affair with power vinyasa quickly led to a desire to teacher her own classes. Timing is everything as they say, and 10 years later she has finally realized her dream of becoming a yoga teacher.

Never lacking passion, Rochelle finds her greatest fire comes from teaching, helping others, and music. And what better way to use all those passions than yoga?!?! Jackpot!!

A graduate of UCR with a BS in sociology she also has a background in massage therapy. Rochelle has completed courses from Swedish and contemporary massage, acupressure, hydrotherapy, and pregnancy massage, to energy work, structural kinesiology and deep tissue bodywork.  This experience and knowledge give Rochelle a unique understanding of the human body which is evident in her teaching style.

A true lover of Vinyasa, she always seeks to find balance between strength and endurance without forsaking grace and flexibility. That’s where her love of Yin comes in. She’s in this for the long haul and can’t imagine a strong practice without the incredibly potent effects of yin. Her aim is to not just stretch herself and her students physically, but also emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually.

Rochelle lives in Redlands with her husband and their three beautiful daughters.

Rochelle is available for private sessions. Please call the studio to book an appointment.
